Olympic Style!–Part 2, Day 1

Day 1 started today, it was filled with many royals, ones I never thought would come. They did though!

Swimming

Well, today American swimmer Ryan Lochte took home gold for USA in the 400m Individual Medley. Michael Phelps (The big 2008 Olympic Winner) failed to make it on the podium! Second went to Brazil’s Thiago Pereira and third went to Japan’s Kosuke Hagino. The Australian woman’s 4 x 100m freestyle won gold and set a new world record of 3:33.15. China’s Shiwen Ye made a new world record in 400m by clocking in at 4:28.43. China’s Yang Sun won the 400 and setting a new Olympic Record of 3:40.14.

Back to the Fashion!

image

All of Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima’s Family was in attendance and in matching Orange. Except, Maxima wearing brown, too cool for Orange I see…

image

Too cute on both sides, I just couldn’t resist. This reminds me of the P&G Mom and Dad’s commercials…awe… :)

image

Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, and Crown Princess Mary all in attendance in Swimming. Mary was probably happy with the result of the Australian team.

image

Lookie who’s behind the Danish Royal Family, the Luxembourgish Royal Family. Small World, eh? Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa (not pictured), Prince Guillaume, Princess Tessy, Prince Louis, Prince Felix (not pictured), and Princess Alexandra (not pictured) were in attendance.

image

Crazy Family Moments, doesn’t Felix look like he has the time of his life? He was probably on the big screen :D

image

Another too cute, to pass picture. I say, when Alexandra marries, Henri will be extremely sad. They are such a great family, I love them!

image

Queen Anne-Marie, King Constantine II, and their son, the handsome, dashing, and (possibly) single, Prince Philippos.

image

Facial Expression Meanings, Frederik – confused. Maria Teresa – happy. Mary – sad. Mette-Marit – not too sure.

image

A cute collage of Mette-Marit and Prince Haakon watching the swimming. They are such a cute couple!

Haakon and Mette-Marit exchanging some conversation with Prince Guillaume. About what though… possibly his engagement, P.S. Guillaume and his fiancĂ©e, Stephanie de Lannoy will wed on October 19, civically and 20, religiously.

The Queen also joined in on the fun of swimming, making an appearance with her hubby, Prince Philip.

Olympic Style!–Part 1, Opening Ceremonies

The Olympics started yesterday, sorry I didn’t post, I was in Newfoundland on vacation. But, back to business! When I was watching the opening ceremonies on TSN, they showed the Royals, awesome!!! So here is the style of royals:

Opening Ceremonies

The Queen, had a acting job for the Olympics, when she did come to the stadium she wore a pink dress, with a pink hat (wasn’t expecting the hat).

imageimage

Camilla wore a repeat amount of clothing, but a new brooch! I really like it, the union jack in the shape of a heart. The Duchess of Cambridge showed up in her normal (boring) clothes, I did like the nice fabric, though.

imageimageimage

Crown Princess Mary, and Crown Prince Frederik was in attendance. I love what Mary wore – apart from the shoes. Princess Charlene and Prince Albert II of Monaco are at the Olympics, more than a year after their wedding. Charlene, wore white, I like white. I liked her jacket and shirt, her pants however, look terrible.

imageimage

The Prince and Princess of Orange were at the Olympics, Maxima wearing a nice Orange coloured dress – which, I must say, looks amazing on her!

imageimage

Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway was in attendance, I saw them. I can’t find any picture though :(

Princess Anne in normal clothes; I don’t know what Queen Anne-Marie of Greece wore, and also Princess Tatiana, came!

imageimageimage

I also want to show you the Olympic Torch, if you didn’t/haven’t see it:

Did you know? Royals had to marry Royals?

Mostly all the Royals back in the day had to marry someone from another Royal Family or aristocratic family. But, many royals now a days do not follow that tradition. Most of them marry who they want to marry and say that’s that. But, back in the day it was much more different. Let me show you:

Queen Sofia and King Juan Carlos I

Most of the Royal Experts might say: She wasn’t Royal! But, that’s where your wrong! I recently (About 5 months ago) found out that Sofia was in fact a Royal.

How? Are there any connections to any other Royal?

Yes! King Constantine II of Greece. That is her brother. King Paul was her Father and Queen Frederika was her mother.

Queen Anne-Marie and Constantine II

So, you might have already have known, Constantine was a Royal, I knew. But also Anne-Marie was also born a Royal. She is in fact, the younger sister of the Queen of Denmark.

Prince Albert and Queen Victoria

This is actually an interesting story. Victoria’s mother’s brother (The King of Belgians) had a son and was named Prince Albert (The one we’re talking about). The King of Belgians and Victoria’s mother wanted Victoria and Albert to meet. And Albert and Victoria married and had 9 children who – most of them – married Royals.
