Princess Estelle Got a Pony

"Victoria, Daniel and Estelle can now move to their house in Solliden. The Planning Board of Borgholm inspected the house on June 27th. The house, which is beautifully situated in a scenic area, secluded by trees and surrounded by pastures and meadows, is a one-storey house of about 300 square meters in size. A planning permission has been granted to the carport and next to the house there should be a 42 square meters large pool. The house is built entirely from natural materials and is quite understated in style, explains Director of Administration of Solliden, Leo Eriksson.

Lisbeth Lennartsson, the Mayor of Borgholm, tells that the Crown Princess and prince Daniel are very excited about the new house, they are extremely pleased with the work done by the artisans of Öland and invited last week in all of them at a housewarming party to show their appreciation. Queen Silvia told her that the house is very well liked, is is bright and clean and they are very happy with the build.
There is still lot of work to do in terms of finalizing the roads, storage building and gardening - and decorating the house of course. Leo Eriksson tells that they will not take the help of any interior designer, Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel are really good at that stuff themselves, and vastly interested in interior design.

Borgholm gave the green light for a deviation from the shore protection, which means that the house is only a few hundred meters from the beach. Which is perfect for little Estelle, thinks the Mistress of the Robes, Alice Trolle Wachtmeister. She thinks that Estelle will have a wonderful time on the island of Öland, children are children and love to sit on the beach and make sand cakes. Solliden is very child friendly with its pedestrian areas and she remembers how the royal children played in the park and swum and picked berries. Now it’s Princess Estelle’s turn to toddle around on the grass and splashing in the waterside.

Kay Wiestål, friend of the royal family and the arranger of Victoriadagen, says that islanders are extremely anxious to let the royals to be in peace during their annual summer vacation.
- What’s great with the Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel, and the whole royal family is that they have always been protected on Öland, they can move anywhere. About a week ago, they went and bought bikes and helmets. And Estelle has got a pony.
The Marshal of the Court visited the stables and familiarized himself with the pony.
- She was liked, so I’ll deliver the horse this weekend. I don’t know if Estelle is there then, but one can hope, says Birger Ramnebrink.

One that also keep his fingers crossed on seeing Estelle is Kay Wiestål, preparing the Victoriadagen concert. So far it is to his great joy confirmed that the entire royal family will attend the festivities on July 14, including Chris O’Neill.

- We would hope for the little charmer too. We like little princess Estelle so much, it would be nice if she will attend. She seems like a very fun girl, says Wiestål.
The court can’t give any information regarding Estelle’s possible attendance during Victoriadagen.
- That is something her parents decide and it is not planned in advance, but she will be with them with if that feels good, said Bertil Ternert."

Queen Beatrix Hosts Her Last Dinner

Today is the last full day that Queen Beatrix will be queen of the Netherlands. She had 23 good years as Queen. Today, she hosted her last dinner as Queen.
Dutch Ladies
Queen Beatrix wore a purple dress with a purple jacket to match. She wore the Wurttemberg Ornate Pearl Tiara, with a pearl corsage with it. Princess Maxima wore a repeat red Valentino dress, along with the Rose Cut Diamond Bandeau Tiara and a diamond necklace with a giant pendant. Princess Laurentien wore a fitting turquoise dress, she wore a new tiara to her, the Aquamarine Parure Tiara. She also wore a bow brooch with an aquamarine pendant.
Princess Mable wore a repeat red dress, with the Diamond Fishnet Necklace, and the Sapphire Parure Tiara, in the diamond setting. Princess Margriet wore the Pearl Button Tiara with the pearls. She wore a rose printed dress and a brown/gray shawl over top of it. Princess Christina made an appearance! She wore a light brown dress with the Laurel Wreath Tiara.
Princess Christina wore the Antique Pearl Tiara, with a black lace jacket and black and white checkered skirt.

Crown Princesses
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark wore a new dress! And I'm loving it! She wore her wedding tiara and earrings. Princess Mathilde, Duchess of Brabant (Belgium) wore a one sleeved white dress, she wore her Laurel Wreath Tiara, she even got blond streaks... Very spiffy. Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, believe of not is wearing a tiara. The tiny Diamond Daisy Tiara that she positioned in the middle of her head. I do love her dress though, Valentino I'm guessing.
Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden wore a repeat purple dress. She wore the Napoleonic Amethyst Tiara. Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie of Luxembourg wore a blue Elie Saab dress with Grand Duchess Marie-Adélaïde's Sapphire Tiara. Crown Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein wore a shiny brown skirt, with a white lace top. She wore the Habsburg Fringe Tiara.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall (Great Britain) wore the Boucheron Honeycomb Tiara. She wore a white top and black skirt combination... Not a fan. Letizia wore a black dress with black lace sleeves and neckline. Letizia wore the Mellerio Floral Tiara.

Is it a bit scary that I got 6/7 Tiara guessed right for the Crown Princesses?

Dutch Inauguration: Tiara Talk

The Dutch Inauguration is less than a week away! This will be an emotional week, yet exciting moment for the Dutch Royal Family. Let's stop thinking about the negative and start thinking about the positive: There will be Tiaras! If anyone is in the Royal Fandom with me, you'd know that you're a sucker for tiaras! Here's some tiara choices I would love to see at the Royal Inauguration.

Let's start in Belgium, shall we?
Laurel Wreath Tiara, Queen Fabiola's Spanish Wedding Gift Tiara
Princess Mathilde, Duchess of Brabant and her husband, Prince Philippe, Duke of Brabant will be attending on behalf of the Belgian Royal Family. I'm sure that Mathilde will wear her Laurel Wreath Tiara. But I would love it if Mathilde brought out another tiara; specifically Queen Fabiola's Spanish Wedding Gift Tiara.

Queen Ingrid's Ruby Parure, Baden Palmette Tiara, Crown Princess Mary's Wedding Tiara
From Denmark, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary will represent the Danish Royal Family. Mary usually only wears two tiaras, her wedding tiara and Queen Ingrid's Ruby Parure. But, I hope that she pulls a different tiara out. My favourite Danish tiara: The Baden Palmette Tiara. But, if she goes for the tiaras she wears often, I'm fine with that.

Masako's Wedding Tiara
For Japan, Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako will represent the Japanese Imperial Family. I truly don't care if Masako doesn't wear a tiara or if she wear a tiara she has worn before. This will be her first major event for a long time! Masako hasn't been by her husband's side a whole lot. This article will explain why.

Grand Duchess Adelaide's Sapphire Tiara; Nassau Small Diamond Floral Tiara
Now, Luxembourg. The Hereditary Grand Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg will represent the Luxembourgish Royal Family. My hope for the inauguration, Stephanie comes out with either Grand Duchess Adelaide's Sapphire Tiara because I wanted Stephanie to wear that at her wedding. Or, the Nassau Small Diamond Floral Tiara because she looks good in floral tiaras.

Amethyst Necklace Tiara
For Norway, the Crown Prince and Princess of Norway with represent the Norwegian Royal Family. There's only one tiara I want to see Mette-Marit in. The Amethyst Necklace Tiara. I love Amethysts and it always looks great on Mette-Marit.

Prussian Diamond Tiara (top left); Mellerio Floral Tiara (top right); Fleur De Lys Tiara (Bottom)
Letizia has been seen in 3 tiaras, out of those three, I only like two. The Prussian Diamond Tiara and the Mellerio Floral Tiara. Letizia also has another tiara the, Fleur De Lys Tiara. It hasn't been seen, but the Fleur De Lys has. Letizia is in face wearing the brooch in the first picture. Letizia hasn't worn it due to the economy in Spain.

Baden Fringe Tiara; Napoleonic Amethyst Tiara; Connaught Diamond Tiara
Victoria has been seen in a bunch, I'm not kidding... She's been seen in 9 tiaras. That's maybe about half of the Swedish Tiara Collection... They love their tiaras. Anyways, I want to see Victoria in the Baden Fringe Tiara (everyone's choice probably), Napoleonic Amethyst Tiara, or a tiara that Victoria hasn't worn. The Connaught Diamond Tiara.

I want Camilla to bring the big ol' Boucheron Honeycomb Tiara. That's all I want.

The Life of: Princess Lilian of Sweden, Duchess of Halland

Since she sadly died on Sunday, I just had to sudden idea to write about her life. Which would be a good idea. So here is her life:
Lilian was born as Lillian May Davies on August 30, 1915 in Swansea, South Wales. She was the daught of Wiliam Davies and his wife, Gladys Mary. Her parents seperated in the 1920's but didn't divorce until 1939, when Lilian was 24.

Lilian became a model and she dropped one of the l's from her name, becoming "Lilian". She modeled from magazines such as Vogue.

Lilian married a Scottish man, Ivan Craig (1912-1998) in 1940. Soon after their wedding, Ivan joined the British Army and left for Africa to fight in World War II. While he was gone, Lilian worked at a factory that made radios for the Royal Navy. She also worked at a hospital for wounded soldiers.

In 1943, Lilian met the young Prince Bertil, Duke of Halland in London, supposedly for a cocktail party for her 28th birthday. A bit after she met Bertil, they became lovers. Keep in mind that she was still married to her husband, who was still fighting in Africa.

When her husband did come back, Ivan expressed his wish to marry another woman. They seperated in 1945 and they divorced in 1947.

Bertil's older brother, Prince Gustaf Adolf, was second-in-line to the Swedish throne. In 1947, he died in a plane crash. His son, Carl XVI Gustaf (the current King) was next in line and he was not even a year old.

Carl does have four older sisters, but back in the days, the women couldn't succed to the throne, that has changed because the heir apperant is a girl. So... things have clearly changed.

Back to the story, Royals couldn't marry commenors in Sweden, and when they did they would lose their line in the throne. Bertil wasn't going to let his country be run by a child that wasn't even a year old. So, Bertil and Lilian waited.

Lilian moved to Sweden and lived with Bertil. Lilian won the affection of the Swedish Royal Family. Carl Gustaf became King in 1973. He married Queen Silvia in 1976. When King Carl Gustaf found out that his wife was pregnant with their first child, he gave Bertil his full consent to marry Lilian.

So they married in December later that year. He was 64 and she was 61. Lilian wore a ice blue silk shantung coat dress with bell sleeves. She accessorized her outfit with blue feathers in her hair, pearl and diamond jewelry, and a bouquet of lilies of the valley.

Bertil died in 1997. Lilian continued Royal duties. She attended the Nobel Prize ceremonies from 1976-2005 until she decided she was too old. Lilian fell and broke her femur in August of 2008. In February of 2009 she again fell. It was announced on June 3, 2010 that she had Alzheimer's desease and couldn't appear in public, which was a few days before Crown Princess Victoria's Wedding.

Then, sadly on March 10 at the age of 97 in Stockholm. They Royal Palace didn't give a reason for the cause of death, she has been in poor health for the past years.

Her funeral was today, King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Sofia Hellqvist, Princess Madeleine, Christopher O'Neill, Princess Margaretha, Princess Birgitta, Princess Desiree, Princess Christina, Queen Margrethe of Denmark and other royals were in attendance.

Princess Lilian of Sweden has died

Sadly, Princess Lilian of Sweden has died today in her home. She was 97 years old.
From the Swedish Royal Site:
"Born on August 30, 1915, in Wales, Princess Lilian was married to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden’s uncle, His Royal Highness Prince Bertil of Sweden, on December 7, 1976 at the Drottningholm Palace Chapel. Prince Bertil died on 5 January 1997.
Princess Lilian fulfilled a number of duties that were previously the responsibility of Prince Bertil, particularly in the field of sport.”

Royals Love: Belts

I've noticed looking through royal maternity wear, that many royal women love belts. So, here are some Crown Princesses wearing belts (note, there's not a lot of pictures):
Everyone knows that Catherine loves her belts! Last year, she wore 27 belts on 88 engagements (there could be more though). There's only 88 that I know of. Her belts are fashionable though, she must have a least 100 different belts... I want to see them all.
Letizia doesn't usually wear belts as often as most princesses or royals. She wears them ocassionally, and when she does wear them. Man! They look good on her!
Mary is a royal who usually wears belts but sometimes doesn't. Her belts are nice, I like them, I swear I have that belt in the middle... Awesome! I don't really have a lot to say...
Maxima is known to wear tiny belts, normally around the size of an inch or two, or something like that.
Victoria hardly wears belts, that's why when I came across Victoria, I had to look on Google. Her belts are nice looking though. Then again, how can a belt not be ugly?

Royal Fashion: Twins!

Princess Maxima of the Netherlands started her two day tour with her husband, Willem-Alexander and she wore a dress that looked a lot like a dress that Princess Claire of Belgium has worn. So, it's Royal Twinsies time!
(Princess Maxima in Brunai; Princess Claire at the Pre-Wedding Dinner of Princess Stephanie & Prince Guillaume)
See, wasn't I right? These dresses look so much alike! They are totally the same dress! They both look stunning in them though.

(Crown Princess Mary at the Christening of her niece, Princess Athena; Pippa Middleton at Wimbledon)
Crown Princess Mary wore this Project D dress to the christening of her niece, Athena in May of 2012. Pippa Middleton (younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge) wore this dress to Wombledon with her sister.

(Princess Alexandra at the Ruby Jubilee of her aunt, Queen Margrethe; Duchess of Cambridge at a Gala to support Team Great Britain)
At first, I thought that the dress looked nice on Alexandra. Then, I saw it on Catherine, and I didn't even remember that Alexandra wore the same dress but in red. The Jenny Packham dress looks good on both royal women.

(Princess Madeleine in her enagement photos; Princess Letizia in her 40th birthday pictures)
I was looking through portraits of the ladies, to see if there are any dresses that are alike. I looked and stared at Madeleine's green dress, a dress that I love. I looked at Letizia's dress and a bing went off. Maybe, it's not the same Alberta Ferrari dress, but it's similar.
