Princess Madeleine: Wedding Tiara Guesses

The engagement was announced not that long ago, it doesn't hurt anyone to show tiara options, though. Madeleine has worn a fair amount of tiaras (like any other Swedish Princess). Her engagement ring is rather lovely as well, so I wonder what tiara she'll chose. The wedding is to be in the summer of 2013 in Sweden. Update: The wedding will take place on June 8, 2013.

Diamond Bandeau Tiara

The Diamond Bandeau Tiara, Madeleine and her older sister, Victoria (above) have both worn this tiara. This is a choice that will probably not be likely for Madeleine. It's a very simple piece, I won't be surprised if she will wear it as a necklace.

Bragança (Brazilian) Tiara

Bragança (Brazilian) Tiara was created in the 18th century in France. It once belonged to Empress Amelie of Brazil. The tiara is a large piece, and I like it very much. Madeleine has never worn it, I'm sure that it won't be used for her wedding. If she does, I will be very happy. Queen Silvia wears this tiara often (not all the time), and I'll be happy if Madeleine wears this.

Aquamarine Bandeau Tiara

The Aquamarine Bandeau Tiara was a 18th birthday present from her parents. It was made long ago, Queen Louise of Sweden used to wear that, and she lived from 1851-1926, so it's a very old piece.

Connaught Diamond Tiara

This tiara was acquired by Crown Princess Margaret, born as a princess of Connaught, on her wedding day in 1905.  The tiara was given to Margaret by her parents, Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Princess Luise Margarete of Prussia. Madeleine's aunt, Princess Christina, wore the tiara on her wedding day. Madeleine wore it to her sister, Crown Princess Victoria's wedding in 2010. It looks very nice on Madeleine, so it's probably in favour for the tiara on her wedding.

Diamond Four Button Tiara

The first diamond button tiara of the Swedish collection. The tiara is normally worn by Madeleine and Victoria. This diamond buttons used on this tiara were reportedly used on the crown at the coronation of King Carl XIV Johan in 1818. I'm not very fond of this tiara, same with the one below, but it isn't my choice. Whatever Madeleine choses, I'm fine with.

Diamond Six Button Tiara

The second diamond button tiara of the Swedish collection. The tiara is normally worn by Victoria. This diamond buttons used on this tiara were reportedly used on the crown at the coronation of King Carl XIV Johan in 1818. In recent years, there has been an alteration of having three rows of diamonds on its base. Again, I'm not fond of this tiara, it's not my choice, and I have no say in it.

Modern (Carl XVI Gustaf) Fringe Tiara

The Modern Fringe (Carl Gustaf XVI) Fringe Tiara is a newer piece in the Swedish collection. The diamond tiara was given to Queen Silvia by King Carl XVI Gustaf (hence the name) in 1986 to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. The tiara can also be worn as a necklace (see the Diamond Four Button tiara, the necklace is this tiara). I like this piece, and it looks good on Madeleine, but I'm putting my money on the tiara below:

Cameo Tiara

The antique gold and pearl tiara, was likely a gift from Nepoleon to Joséphine in 1809. She gave the tiara to her granddaughter, Queen Josephine of Sweden. The large cameos, show scenes from Greek mythology, weren't originally made for the tiara. The piece has become something of an unofficial wedding tiara for the Swedish royal women. Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, and two of the king's sisters, Princess Birgitta and Princess Désirée. So, I'm putting my money on it, it's a tradition to wear it!

Update:

Napoleonic Amethyst Tiara

Madeleine wore this tiara at the Nobel Prize awards, 2012. It was the first time she ever wore it. I wouldn't think it would be a wedding tiara. I think that I'll be a tiara choice for Silvia or Victoria to wear.
